Which Tripod is best for content creation?
You want to create professional content to market your business online and need a tripod for the office, studio or to take out with you to visit clients and attend events. But let’s face it, it’s a little overwhelming when you google tripods for smartphones, and so you’d love a recommendation. Which is the best tripod for content creation?
I’ve rounded up and tested lots of affordable tripods for smartphones to help you find the best tripod for content creation – so that you can capture more content for your business. I’ve also written a separate list of Tripod alternatives with lots of ideas of how to film content when you don’t have a tripod with you.
In my opinion, a tripod is essential if you want to film good content. You don’t have to buy an expensive one but it will be one of the best investments you’ll make for your business content.
In my experience, when buying a tripod the main features to consider are ease of setting up, storage size, stability and the height it extends to. I’ve previously had a very rickety tripod which wobbled so you do need a good quality one – but this does not mean expensive.
This article includes a number of affiliate links to Amazon. I only share affiliate links to products I love and have tested myself. It doesn’t cost you any extra to click on the link, but it does means I may receive a small payment as a thank you for the recommendation – at no extra cost to you. And of course I want you to be aware of that. I always support small businesses where I can, but for most of this kit, Amazon is usually the best option.
Best Tripods for home and office
Desk Tripod
The auto face-tacking 360 selfie stick tripod is a brilliant and very sturdy desk tripod. It has the added advantage of working like a gimbal, tracking and moving with your movements. Brilliant for filming in a workshop or studio. Often available in the TikTok shop so look out for deals there too.
Note: You did need to wave at the sensor occasionally to get it to track you again.
Full Height Tripod
This Oohhee 62" tripod is brilliant. Extends to a good height, is lightweight and folds down super small. Great for travelling. This is definitely my top pick of Tripods for use at home, in the office and out and about filming with clients.
Pro Tripod
I bought this high-quality Hama tripod which feels very professional when out filming with clients - it's great quality and really robust. It is a little trickier to put up and down as you need to extend the 3 legs separately. So this one isn't as good for travelling and quick content creation on the go, but great set up and moving around in an office or studio.
Alternative Tripods for travelling
Suction Smartphone holder
Attach the suction pad to the back of your phone and to a window, or hard surface. These are so super handy for travelling with and great for capturing content on the go. They are super cheap too. (Do double check how well they stick to your phone case. Mine is brilliant and tough to part. A friend used one and her less shiny phone case wasn't quite as stable).
A trusty part of my content kit now.
Phone holder for watersports
This MoKo waterproof phone pouch is brilliant for paddleboarding and other watersports. I have a couple and they are brilliant - although I do get the eebie jeebies about losing my phone in water.
Alternative Tripods & Tripod Hacks
I’ve also written a list of tripod hacks – ways to securely hold your smartphone at home and out and about using everything from a hair bobble to a stick. You can access the list here.
